During a visit to the border crossing at Ras Adjir and the transit camp run by UNHCR Chouca - where 15,000 people, mostly of Bangladeshi nationals await evacuation - Swing Guterres praised the great efforts of the Tunisian government, civil society and the Tunisian Red Crescent, che insieme alle organizzazioni internazionali si occupano di ogni singolo individuo che attraversa la frontiera.

L’UNHCR è particolarmente preoccupato per il gran numero di persone che attarversano la frontiera provenendo from war-torn country like Somalia , and that can not be returned. Guterres calls on rich countries to cooperate with UNHCR in order to find appropriate solutions for the future of these people.

IOM and UNHCR will continue to support the people and the Tunisian government in the generous welcome of all people fleeing from the tragic developments in Libya.
